Kundali Maching
Matching for compatibility is done before marriage to determine how well-suited two individuals are for each other. A compatible relationship is one where both partners work well together, enjoy each other’s company, and have a good understanding of each other. This is assessed based on the Rashi (lunar horoscope) and Nakshatra, and the test consists of 36 points. A couple should score at least 18 points to be considered for marriage, and the higher the score, the greater the compatibility between them.
In Vedic astrology, Kundali has eight categories called Kootas or Koots, and this is known as Asta-Koot milan. The eight categories and their corresponding points are:
Varna – 1 point
Vaishya – 2 points
Tara – 3 points
Yoni – 4 points
Graha Maitri – 5 points
Gana – 6 points
Bhukoot – 7 points
Nadi – 8 points
